Not Snow But Snotrockets

Madison Bumgarner’s third start of the 2013 season was scheduled for today in Chicago vs. the Cubs. When I checked Twitter this morning one of the San Francisco Giants beat writers mentioned that snow was falling in Chicago. I was worried that snow might preempt snotrockets but fortunately that didn’t happen. Wrigley Field stayed relatively flurry-free and the snotrockets flowed like, well, snotrockets.

Here are Bumgarner’s snotrocket totals and other vital statistics from today, April 13, 2013, on the road vs. the Chicago Cubs:

  • W, 6.2 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 6 K, 1 HR, 14 SNR (snotrockets): 1 vs. lefties, 6 vs. righties, 7 other. 1 on-base and 1 at-bat SNR.
  • Madison Bumgarner’s most prolific innings were the 2nd and 6th in which he blew 4 snotrockets per inning.
  • Today’s game saw the first Madison Bumgarner on-base snotrocket of the 2013 season.

Bumgarner’s next start should be at home in San Francisco next Friday, April 19 vs. the San Diego Padres. See you here or on Twitter for all the snotrocket action you can handle.
