In the early part of tonight’s Giants game something didn’t seem right. Something seemed to be…missing. What could it have been?
Ohhhh. Right. Of course. After the first 3 innings passed and Bumgarner had yet to blow one snotrocket I was concerned. Had he reformed? Did his teammates do a snotrocket intervention in the clubhouse? Was it Zyrtec? Or was it simply that the Comcast Sports Net Bay Area camerawork was even worse than usual? I suspect the last one, because the cameras seemed to be focused on anyone and anything but Bumgarner tonight. It was the customary “Let’s find every single Giants fan in the home team’s ballpark tonight and show them over and over again” type of game, along with the typical numerous shots of kids eating cotton candy and an absolutely fanatical devotion to show every single second of every batter’s time in the box. It wasn’t until the bottom of the 4th inning (over an hour after the game started) that I was able to tally the first Bumgarner snotrocket of the night:
Sigh. Not a great night for snotrocket watching.
Here are Madison Bumgarner’s snotrocket totals and other vital statistics for Friday, May 30, 2014 on the road vs. the St. Louis Cardinals:
- W, 7.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 8 SNR (snotrockets): 0 vs. lefties, 7 vs. righties, 1 other.
- Bumgarner’s most prolific inning was the 4th in which he blew 4 snotrockets.
- Madison Bumgarner now with 155 snotrockets so far this season.
Jack was pleased:
Madison Bumgarner’s next start should be Thursday, June 5, 2014 on the road vs. the Cincinnati Reds. See you here or on Twitter for all the exciting snotrocket action.
