2017 Opening Day Snotrockets

The day we have all been dreaming about is finally here. The Walking Dead season finale is tonight. It’s All Out War with Alexandria, Hilltop and The Kingdom vs. Negan and The Sanctuary. It’s going to be awesome. There was something else going on today but I forget what that was.

Oh right.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Baseball and Madison Bumgarner’s snotrockets always seem to arrive in the nick of time. Whenever I’m feeling sad about another season of The Walking Dead drawing to a close along comes the San Francisco Giants and Bumgarner to the rescue. And even though today’s game didn’t turn out as a Giants fan would like it was still great to see Madison Bumgarner back on the mound doing his thing. And by his thing I mean blowing snotrockets of course.

Here are Madison Bumgarner’s snotrocket totals and other vital statistics for Sunday, April 2, 2017 on the road vs. the Arizona Diamondbacks:

  • ND, 7.0 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 0 BB, 11 K, 1 HR, 9 SNR (snotrockets): 3 vs. lefties, 4 vs. righties, 2 other. 1 double SNR.
  • Madison Bumgarner’s most prolific inning was the 7th in which he blew 3 snotrockets.

Re the no-decision listed above: Bumgarner was pitching just beautifully today and had a no hitter going into the 6th inning but ran into a bit of trouble in that same inning. However Bumgarner left the game after the 7th with the lead. The Giants ended up losing 6-5 though when their bullpen had their second blown save of the game. I don’t need to go into detail on those two blown saves because I don’t want the headaches and heartburn to come back. No, let’s just discuss the fact that this happened today:

This is pretty impressive too:

Why hit one when you can hit two – Bumgarner’s second home run:

As if two Madison Bumgarner home runs wasn’t enough there were also snotrockets. Everyone’s favorite snotrocket screencapper @SanDiegoGiants got the season off to a great start with 2017’s first snotrocket screencap:

Bad, bad Madison Bumgarner:

So yes, the Giants lost but on the bright side we got to experience much Madison Bumgarner magnificence with all the home runs and all the snotrockets. And that’s a pretty good thing indeed.

Madison Bumgarner’s next start should be Saturday, April 8, 2017 on the road vs. the San Diego Padres. See you here or on Twitter for all the exciting Bumgarner snotrocket action.
