Pinch Hit Snotrockets

I was all set to post Madison Bumgarner’s 2019 season snotrocket totals when I realized that I never made a post about his last snotrockets of the season. They didn’t come from a start but a pinch hit appearance that he made against the Dodgers (eeuw). I’m so sorry for the delay. Let’s not wait any longer shall we? Let’s get right to it.

Here are Madison Bumgarner’s snotrocket totals for Sunday, September 29, 2019 at home vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers (eeuw):

  • 2 SNR: 0 vs. lefties, 0 vs. righties, 2 other. 2 at-bat SNR. 2 pinch-hit SNR.
  • Madison Bumgarner’s most prolific inning was the 5th in which he blew 2 snotrockets.
  • Madison Bumgarner finishes the 2019 season with 105 snotrockets.

There are a couple of snotrocket screencaps and since it’s four months after the game actually occurred I have no idea who took them. I think it was me but it could very well have been Bumgarner’s official snotrocket screencapper @SanDiegoGiants. This will teach me for not labeling the screencaps properly. Anyway here they are:

This September 29th game was the last game of the season and so with it came a lot of sentimental and melancholy moments because it was also Bruce Bochy’s last day as manager. Several former players showed up to pay tribute to their old skipper including a seldom seen but huge fan favorite who was the lucky recipient of a classic BumHug™:

That’s right Timmeh was in the house. Tim Lincecum, so long gone from the team but never gone from anyone’s heart 🥰 BTW Timmy had a classic Timmy Moment in an interview after the game. I was lucky enough to record it for posterity. I don’t think I can post it here in this blog but head on over to my Twitter account and you can find it there. You’ll be glad you did.

So Timmy was blessed with a BumHug™ but he wasn’t the only one. You didn’t think Bumgarner was going to forget his favorite manager did you?

Bumgarner was feeling it so much he even gave home plate a BumHug™, sort of:

Again, sorry for the extreme delay in posting this. Something very distressing happened in the offseason that I won’t be discussing here now or anytime in the near future. I just can’t do it. I can’t be like a lot of fans and be flippant or nonchalant about it, posting on Twitter about it just so they can get a lot of likes and retweets. So I’ll end this blog post here and probably sometime tomorrow post Bumgarner’s season snotrocket totals. Thanks for reading and I’ll see you back here tomorrow. And as always you can follow me at Twitter where come the 2020 MLB season I’ll be tallying and tweeting about Madison Bumgarner’s snotrockets, just like always. See you soon.
