Second Start Snotrockets

 

The second start of the 2021 season for Madison Bumgarner didn’t go so well in terms of obtaining a win. But in terms of blowing snotrockets Bumgarner excelled. And really, isn’t that what’s most important?

Here are Madison Bumgarner’s snotrocket totals and other vital statistics for Wednesday, April 7, 2021 on the road vs. the Colorado Rockies:

  • L, 5.0 IP, 8 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, 0 HR, 12 SNR (snotrockets): 1 vs. lefties, 7 vs. righties, 4 other. 1 at-bat SNR. 3 glove SNR.
  • Madison Bumgarner’s most prolific inning was the 3rd in which he blew 7 snotrockets.
  • Madison Bumgarner now with 22 snotrockets so far in the 2021 season.

Twelve snotrockets! How blessed are we? In Bumgarner’s Opening Day start he blew 10 snotrockets and this start saw him shoot a dozen. As I said after his first 2021 start:

This abundance of snotrockets after the lean last couple of years has been a welcome sight. I was starting to believe that Bumgarner was drying up and worried that he might go a full season with no nose blowing. My fears were groundless however. Madison’s snotrockets have been plentiful so far in 2021. In fact in this start he had 7 snotrockets in one inning! Amazing.
