Quickie Snotrockets

This is going to be a very short blog post because I procrastinated and only got around to watching Madison Bumgarner’s last start a week after it took place. And as he’s pitching tonight I wanted to be sure to get his snotrocket stats in before the first pitch of what’s sure to be his last start of the season. There’s also the fact that Bumgarner only had one snotrocket and I didn’t get a screenshot of it so again, a very short post.

Here are Madison Bumgarner’s snotrocket totals and other vital statistics for Thursday, September 23, 2021 at home vs. the Arizona Braves:

  • ND, 5.0 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 5 K, 1 HR, 1 SNR (snotrockets): 0 vs. lefties, 1 vs. righties, 0 other. 1 indoor SNR.
  • Madison Bumgarner’s most prolific inning was the 3rd in which he blew 1 snotrocket.
  • Bumgarner now with 179 snotrockets in the 2021 season.

That’s it. That’s the blog post. But Bumgarner pitches tonight against his old team the San Francisco Giants so maybe he will be so overcome with emotion and blow 20 snotrockets. Or not. It doesn’t matter. As long as there’s one Bumgarner snotrocket in the game I’ll be happy. See you back here in a day or two or seven for all the exciting Bumgarner snotrocket action.

None And Some Snotrockets

I have another two-for-one Madison Bumgarner snotrocket blog post for you. The first game included in this two-fer I didn’t bother to make a separate blog post for as there were no snotrockets blown in that outing (sniff). That was one week ago and I only just finished watching the next Bumgarner outing just a few minutes ago so I decided to combine the two games into one blog post for efficiency.

Here are Madison Bumgarner’s snotrocket totals and other vital statistics for Friday, September 10, 2021 on the road vs. the Seattle Mariners:

  • L, 6.0 IP, 8 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 1 BB, 6 K, 3 HR, 0 SNR (snotrockets).
  • Madison Bumgarner still with 175 snotrockets in the 2021 season.

Zero snotrockets. Sad. Let’s not dwell upon it and instead move on to the next game.

Here are Madison Bumgarner’s snotrocket totals and other vital statistics for Friday, September 17, 2021 on the road vs. the Houston Astros:

  • ND, 7.0 IP, 1 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 3 K, 1 HR, 3 SNR (snotrockets): 0 vs. lefties, 1 vs. righties , 2 other. 3 indoor SNR. 3 interleague SNR.
  • Madison Bumgarner’s most prolific innings were the 3rd, 6th and 7th innings in which he blew 1 snotrocket per inning.
  • Bumgarner now with 178 snotrockets in the 2021 season.

Even though there were 3 snotrockets in the game I could only get a good shot of the one from the 3rd inning:

Madison Bumgarner’s next start should be Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at home vs. the Atlanta Braves.I should be able to watch that one in real time so you can join me at Twitter for live snotrocket tweets or you can always come back here for all the exciting Bumgarner snotrocket action.

Fall Snotrockets

Autumn is in the air and so are the snotrockets. Madison Bumgarner’s snot isn’t as crispy or colorful as the leaves in fall but pretty just the same.

Here are Madison Bumgarner’s snot rocket totals and other vital statistics for Friday, September 3, 2021 at home vs. the Seattle Mariners:

  • ND, 6.0 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 5 BB, 5 K, 2 HR, 6 SNR (snotrockets): 2 vs. lefties, 1 vs. righties, 3 other. 1 glove SNR. 6 indoor SNR. 6 interleague SNR.
  • Madison Bumgarner’s most prolific innings were the 3rd and 4th in which he blew 2 snotrockets per inning.
  • Bumgarner now with 175 snotrockets in the 2021 season.

Most of Bumgarner’s snotrockets in this game were either long distance or his back was to the camera so I was only able to get two decent snotrocket screenshots. They occurred back to back at the top of the 4th inning, with the second one being a glove SNR:

It’s gratifying to know that Bumgarner’s snotrockets have worldwide appeal:

Madison Bumgarner’s next start will either be Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at home vs. the Texas Rangers or Friday, September 10, 2021 on the road vs. the Seattle Mariners. No matter which day and start, we’ll be back here bringing you all the exciting Bumgarner snotrocket action. See you back here soon!

Double Your Fun Snotrockets

I’m behind on my snot rocket posts so I’ve combined two Madison Bumgarner outings into one post. That’s it, that’s the explanation.

Here are Madison Bumgarner’s snotrocket totals and other vital statistics for Tuesday, August 24, 2021 on the road vs. the Pittsburgh Pirates:

  • L, 6.0 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 3 BB, 5 K, 2 HR, 3 SNR (snotrockets): 2 vs. lefties, 0 vs. righties, 1 other. 3 double SNR.
  • Madison Bumgarner’s most prolific innings were the 2nd, 4th and 5th in which he blew 1 snot rocket per inning.
  • Bumgarner now with 166 snot rockets in the 2021 season.

Even though there were 3 double snotrockets in this game I was only able to get good, clear screenshots of one of the doubles (the other two were too far away). In this 4th inning double the right nostril was done first:

Followed by the left nostril:

(Please note that in the above double snotrocket Madison Bumgarner is blowing his nose right on his former team’s happy news)

On to the next game. Here are Madison Bumgarner’s snotrocket totals and other vital statistics for Sunday, August 29, 2021 on the road vs. the Philadelphia Phillies:

  • L, 5.0 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 4 BB, 3 K, 0 HR, 3 SNR (snotrockets): 1 vs. lefties, 1 vs. righties, 1 other. 1 double SNR.
  • Madison Bumgarner’s most prolific inning was the 3rd in which he blew 2 snotrockets.
  • Bumgarner now with 169 snotrockets in the 2021 season.

Not a lot of snotrockets in this outing either but fortunately I was able to catch all three of them, two singles and a double. The two single snotrockets happened in the 3rd inning:

The double snotrocket took place in the 4th inning with the left nostril going first:

It was quickly followed by the right nostril:

Madison Bumgarner’s next start should be tomorrow, Friday, September 3, 2021 at home vs. the Seattle Mariners. I will probably live tweet that game so see you on Twitter or you can always come back here of course for all the exciting Bumgarner snotrocket action.
