Indoor Snotrockets

The San Francisco Giants were on the road this past weekend, taking on the Arizona Diamondbacks. Madison Bumgarner pitched in Saturday’s game and got the win. Also, the weather in Phoenix was the usual 179° F so the roof was closed. Indoor snotrockets? Yes indeed.

Here are Madison Bumgarner’s snotrocket totals and other vital statistics for Saturday, June 8, 2013 on the road vs. the Arizona Diamondbacks:

  • W, 5.0 IP, 5 H, 1 BB, 3 R, 3 ER, 4 K, 0 HR, 6 SNR (snotrockets): 0 vs. lefties, 4 vs. righties, 2 other.
  • Madison Bumgarner’s most prolific inning was the 3rd in which he blew 2 snotrockets.
  • This game’s total of 6 SNR is Madison Bumgarner’s smallest snotrocket total of 2013.

So as noted above this outing saw the smallest total of Bumgarner snotrockets in any one game this season, so far. Granted, Bumgarner did only go 5 innings but he had a shorter outing earlier this season and blew far more snotrockets (05/17/13, on the road vs. Colorado Rockies, 4.2 IP, 15 SNR). What to make of this? Maybe being indoors affected MadBum’s snotrocket total. I knew domed stadiums were evil.
