Rocky Snotrockets

Rocky Snotrockets sounds like the name of a snot-blowing cartoon character. 10/10 would watch.

Hey guess what? The San Francisco Giants won! Madison Bumgarner won! The fans won because there were snotrockets!

Here are Madison Bumgarner’s snotrocket totals and other vital statistics for Saturday, September 15, 2018 at home vs. the Colorado Rockies:

  • Totals: W, 6.0 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 2 K, 7 SNR (snotrockets): 0 vs. lefties, 4 vs. righties, 3 other. 2 double SNR. 1 at-bat SNR. 1 mound visit SNR.
  • Madison Bumgarner’s most prolific innings were the 4th and 5th in which he blew 2 snotrockets per inning.
  • Bumgarner now with 77 snotrockets in the 2018 season.

Mr. Bumgarner’s personal snotrocket screencapper @SanDiegoGiants was inspired by Madison’s recent upsurge in mucus production and got some great snotrocket screencaps and gifs. From the middle of the 3rd inning:

A solo snotrocket from the 5th inning:

Here’s a still of the same one, especially for you snotrocket connoisseurs:

Double snotrocket from the 5th inning:

Here’s one that we don’t see too often – a mound visit snotrocket, complete with Austin Slater’s terrified reaction:

Mr. Bumgarner was done for the night after 6 strong innings. He looked like he could go the distance but was pulled early for some reason that we fans were not privy to at first. I was worried but tried to think positive:

As it turns out Bumgarner felt a little side tightness during his last at-bat and was removed from the game for precautionary reasons so it was nothing too serious. Phew.

Bonus Bumgarner pic:

Madison Bumgarner’s next start should be this Friday, September 21, 2018 on the road vs. the St. Louis Cardinals. See you here or on Twitter for all the exciting Bumgarner snotrocket action.

Freshly Brewed Snotrockets

The less said about Madison Bumgarner’s latest start the better. Let’s just focus on more pleasant things like his mucus, all right? All right.

Here are Madison Bumgarner’s snotrocket totals and other vital statistics for Sunday, September 9, 2018 on the road vs. the Milwaukee Brewers:

  • L, 6.0 IP, 4 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 1 BB, 4 K, 1 HR, 9 SNR (snotrockets): 0 vs. lefties, 4 vs. righties, 5 other. 2 double SNR.
  • Madison Bumgarner’s most prolific inning was the 6th in which he blew 4 snotrockets.
  • Bumgarner now with 70 snotrockets in the 2018 season.

As I mentioned earlier I really don’t have much to say about the game so I’m just going to hit you with a bunch of snotrocket screencaps. The first Bumgarner snotrocket of the game occurred in the 1st inning and it was a double, with the left nostril leading the way:

Left was of course followed by the right:

Single snotrocket from the 1st inning:

4th inning single snotrocket:

Another solo shot of snot, this time in the 5th inning:

The 6th inning saw Bumgarner’s second double snotrocket of the game, with the right nostril taking a surprising turn at being first:

Left nostril was shocked that it came in second:

Single snotrocket in the same inning:

One more single snotrocket from the 6th:

Madison Bumgarner’s next start should be Saturday, September 15, 2018 at home vs. the Colorado Rockies. See you here or on Twitter for all the exciting Bumgarner snotrocket action.

Laborious Snotrockets

On Labor Day this year the San Francisco Giants and Madison Bumgarner played a game at Coors Field. That’s it. That’s all I got.

Oh wait there’s something else. Here are Madison Bumgarner’s snotrocket totals and other vital statistics for Monday, September 3, 2018 on the road vs. the Colorado Rockies:

  • ND, 5.0 IP, 8 H, 7 R, 6 ER, 1 BB, 6 K, 3 HR, 1 SNR (snotrockets): 0 vs. lefties, 1 vs. righties, 0 other.
  • Madison Bumgarner’s most prolific inning was the 5th in which he blew 1 snotrocket.
  • Bumgarner now with 61 snotrockets in the 2018 season.

So as you can tell by the unimpressive stats seen above (both pitching and snotrocketing) and by my distinct lack of enthusiasm to start this post it was not a great day for Mr. Bumgarner. But all is not completely lost as we did get that one lone snotrocket and here it is:

Madison Bumgarner’s next start should be Sunday, September 9, 2018 on the road vs. the Milwaukee Brewers. See you here or on Twitter for all the exciting Bumgarner snotrocket action. And please God let there be some. Snotrockets, that is.

A Vat Of Snotrockets

The bad news is that the San Francisco Giants only scored 1 run in their August 28th game vs. the Arizona Diamondbacks. The good news is that the Dbacks scored 0 runs. The bad news is that Madison Bumgarner got yet another no-decision. The good news is that Bumgarner blew more than 2 snotrockets in the game. Bumgarner getting a win would be nice but I’ll settle for the multiple mucus shots.

Here are Madison Bumgarner’s snotrocket totals and other vital statistics for Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at home vs. the Arizona Diamondbacks:

  • ND, 7.0 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 4 BB, 5 K, 0 HR, 4 SNR (snotrockets): 0 vs. lefties, 1 vs. righties, 3 other. 1 pre-game SNR. 1 double SNR. 1 BumHug.
  • Madison Bumgarner’s most prolific innings were the 1st, 4th, 5th and 6th in which he blew 1 snotrocket per inning.
  • Bumgarner now with 60 snotrockets in the 2018 season.

We have a plethora of snotrocket material for you to enjoy, in both screencap and gif form, and I was impatient for all of it to begin:

Here’s a pre-game snotrocket, blown at exactly 7:15 PM:

That was it for snotrockets until the 4th inning when there was some uncertainty from @SanDiegoGiants as to whether or not snot actually occurred:

I was already on it though:

In the 5th inning Mr. Bumgarner blew one of his specialties, the double snotrocket. Appreciative double SNR tweet:

@SanDiegoGiants was in agreement:

The last snotrocket of the game occurred in the 6th inning. Only a single this time but I’m not complaining and neither should you:

Bonus Bumgarner goodies – little earthquakes:

Contentious nasal action:

Bumgarner doesn’t like the strike zone and can you blame him:

Second one of the season and fast becoming a fan favorite – The BumHug:

A question for the ages:

Madison Bumgarner’s next start should be Monday, September 3, 2018 at home vs. the Colorado Rockies. See you here or on Twitter for all the exciting Bumgarner snotrocket action.

Hotter And Juicier Snotrockets

There was magic in the air last Thursday at Citi Field. Madison Bumgarner went 8 strong innings and got the win, his teammates actually gave him run support and last but not least there were multiple snotrockets in the game. What kind of sorcery is this? Bruce Bochy must have found one of these somewhere:

Here are Madison Bumgarner’s snotrocket totals and other vital statistics for Thursday, August 23, 2018 on the road vs. the New York Mets:

  • W, 8.0 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 8 K, 1 HR, 6 SNR (snotrockets): 1 vs. lefties, 0 vs. righties, 5 other. 1 double SNR.
  • Madison Bumgarner’s most prolific inning was the 4th in which he blew 3 snotrockets.
  • Bumgarner now with 56 snotrockets in the 2018 season.

Bumgarner’s Personal Snotrocket Screencapper @SanDiegoGiants was on non-snotrocket assignment so Mrs. Personal Snotrocket Screencapper @iamjerklord filled in for him and did a great job. Here is a fine example of her work, a Bumgarner snotrocket from the 5th inning:

Also from the 5th inning, another Bumgarner nasal beauty:

I managed to capture a few myself although the quality of the screencaps are a little fuzzy:

Also we have a real treat for you. During Mr. Bumgarner’s latest start Giants fan @xSammySeventeen was in attendance at the game and accomplished not one but two rare feats: she managed to capture an aerial bullpen Bumgarner snotrocket. In person, no less. I have been tallying Bumgarner’s snotrockets going on now for 7 + years and to my knowledge this is the first time that such a thing has ever happened. So without further ado here is the rarest of Bumgarner snotrockets:

Isn’t it beautiful?  Years from now you can tell your grandchildren where you were the minute you witnessed such snotrocket magnificence.

And finally I have no real good reason to post this except that I liked the advertisement on the backstop:

Madison Bumgarner’s next start should be this Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at home vs. the Arizona Diamondbacks. See you here or on Twitter for all the exciting Bumgarner snotrocket action.

Bum On Bum Snotrockets

I am way behind on my snotrocket blog posts. It’s because I’ve been a little depressed lately due to Madison Bumgarner’s low snotrocket totals this season and I let that affect my snotrocket blogging. So now I will attempt to catch up with three snot posts in one day. A day drenched in mucus.

Here are Madison Bumgarner’s snotrocket totals and other vital statistics for Monday, August 13, 2018 on the road vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers (ew):

  • ND, 6.0 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, 2 SNR (snotrockets): 1 vs. lefties, 0 vs. righties, 1 other.
  • Madison Bumgarner’s most prolific innings were the 1st and 4th in which he blew one snotrocket per inning.
  • Bumgarner now with 48 snotrockets in the 2018 season.

Bumgarner blew 2 snotrockets that night. I have one snotrocket screencap taken by professional snotrocket screencapper @SanDiegoGiants and here it is:

Isn’t it a beauty? A classic. The other Bumgarner snotrocket from this game was, as I recall, a partially hidden one from the centerfield camera that was too far away to capture cleanly. So this is it, this is all you’re getting in this post. Enjoy.

Madison Bumgarner’s next start after this one was Saturday, August 18, 2018 on the road vs. the New York Mets. See you back here in a few minutes for blog post #2 of the day, filled with Bumgarner snotrockety goodness. Oh and you can also catch me anytime at Twitter for all the live Bumgarner snotrocket action.

Double Double Snotrockets

No, this post isn’t about hamburgers with snot sauce and grilled onions. With a side order of animal snot fries and a large snot shake. Okay I’ll stop now because I’m making myself sick.

Madison Bumgarner had another one of those increasingly familiar games in which he pitched well but his teammates scored poorly and he received another no-decision. At least it wasn’t a loss. But it was a dismal game whose only redeeming quality were the snotrockets.

Here are Madison Bumgarner’s snotrocket totals and other vital statistics for Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at home vs. the Houston Astros:

  • ND, 7.0 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 7 K, 2 SNR (snotrockets): 0 vs. lefties, 0 vs. righties, 2 other. 2 double SNR.
  • Madison Bumgarner’s most prolific innings were the 5th and 6th in which he blew 1 snotrocket per inning.
  • Madison Bumgarner now with 46 snotrockets in the 2018 season.

We had good and bad in regards to snotrockets this time out. The good? Two double snotrockets. The bad? Only two snotrockets. Madison Bumgarner’s snotrocket production has been slowly but surely declining in the past couple of years. A troubling sign that I hope changes soon.

I guess we should be grateful for what we did get. Two snotrockets is better than none at all, right? Right. Here’s the first double snotrocket set, blown in the 5th inning. First up is the left nostril:

Then the right nostril:

In the 6th inning Bumgarner followed the same pattern, double snotrocket-wise. The left nostril first:

Then the right nostril, partially obstructed view:

Madison Bumgarner’s next start is Monday, August 13, 2018 on the road vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers (ew). See you here or on Twitter for all the exciting Bumgarner snotrocket action.
